July/ August Empties!

I've watched a fair few Empties videos on youtube so I just thought I'd do a post about a few products I've ran out of (eek!) recently. Horrible that all my face products ran out at the same time, mind, and they're not the cheapest products in the entire world I can tell you that.

Laura mercier Mineral Powder
Just beautiful. I really can't comprehend going back to liquid foundations after using this foundation, It's amazing, not heavy at all and leaves a glow that you definitely can't obtain with any powder I've ever used. Can't see myself ever straying away from it. I use the colour "Soft Porcelain" which is a lovely match for my pale skin, and buff it in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It retails at £31, but lasts a fair few months.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer
Simply the best concealer I have ever used. Covers like a dream, stays put, makes skin look flawless, it's just perfect. I use it with my Real Techniques stippling brush, to add extra coverage where I need it. I use the colour NW20 and it retails at the price of £14.50

Collection Concealer

I use this underneath my Laura Mercier foundation as a sort of base and to brighten up under my eyes and to hilight parts of my face as it's a lighter colour. I couldn't get on with this product for a long time but I really like it after finding a way of using it that I like. I wouldn't say it was full coverage but It's good coverage without being too heavy on the skin which I detest. It's cheap as chips too, and retails at around £5!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

I adore this product and couldn't be without it now that I've found it. I spritz it on my brush to help my Collection concealer glide on more effortlessly and when my makeup is finished I spray on a bit of this over the top and it just makes my makeup look fresh and rids any cakiness or areas where powder has gathered. It's a life saver in hot weather, prevents any sweating or running and makes my makeup last. I've heard people say they don't notice any difference when using this but, honestly, without it my makeup is in no way as perfect as when I use this. £19.00

Skindinavia Moisture lock makeup finish

Unfortunately I don't like this product quite as much as I do the Urban Decay version but I must say it is very nice. As it's the moisture lock version it leaves a beautiful glow on the skin but unfortunately as I tend to have considerably oily skin it probably wasn't the right version for me. I just didn't think it was as good as the other and that was disappointing for me, I bought it before The All nighter but that surpassed this product as soon as I bought it. I suppose it's personal preference at the end of the day, there's nothing bad about it, it's just not my favourite. It retails at £14, so I might possibly try a different version more suited to my skin.

Back from holiday!

I've just (well I actually got back on Sunday but we'll refer to it as just) got back from a lovely cruise with my Grandmother. I really really enjoyed it, with the exception of being a bit poorly on the last evening, which didn't put me in such good spirits for the long journey back. But it really was lovely. I didn't get the tan I anticipated but I think I have got a hint of colour, which is a nice change from the usual pure white. We travelled round the Mediterranean, visiting places like Venice, Gibraltar, Greece, Portugal and a few others I'm struggling to remember. The food was lovely, and it was just as a whole very enjoyable and definitely relaxing. I'm hoping to write an upcoming post about a few things I bought on holiday as well as my pictures from the holiday as soon as I get my camera back, As my nan is taking it to a shop to print out all of the pictures. I should have it back soon though, ready for my trip to Howarth this weekend which I'm really excited about. I've been looking forward to it for a long time, and have hopes to buy a book for my friend as I really think she'd love it. So yeah that's basically it, bear with me for the moment!

And have a little listen to this song, I adore it.

Just a little post about life

I've not been too great at all with blogging lately, due to being quite ill and hopefully (fingers crossed I'm not jinxing myself here) I'll feel a lot better soon, preferably I'll be fine for the long coach journey to the cruise on friday (even the thought makes me feel a bit sick).

My nan brought over my camera today for us to take on holiday so I thought I'd just take a few pictures for my blog. They aren't about makeup beauty or anything like that they're just really pictures of my house and things that sort of express who I am. As well as my clothes for my holiday! enjoy.

How I'd style a recent Asos purchase

How I'd style an asos dress

Yesterday I purchased this dress for my upcoming holiday and I thought I'd do yet another Polyvore post just to show how I'm planning to accessorize it. The only thing I actually own out of the items shown here are the lipstick which I think will be a beautiful contrast to the vibrant yellow, however I do have similar shoes earrings and a bag to wear with the dress. I plan to wear this outfit at night during my holiday hopefully with a tan! I can't wait.

Polyvore: A few every day products!

A few of my every day products

As well as using Polyvore for fashion I also noticed there was an opportunity to browse beauty items so I thought I'd do a post on a few of my every day make up products. Unfortunately I couldn't include other things I use because they weren't available on Polyvore but these are probably a few of the most important things I use. I love every single product shown here and other than maybe trying another mascara I can't see my every day make up routine not including these products for a very long time. I'm looking forward to doing a post about my every day makeup products when I get a camera but until then I just thought I'd give a little insight into my favourite make up products.

A glittery nail day

I thought I'd write a little post about the nail varnish I'm wearing at the moment, I actually painted my nails last night with Essie's Ballet Slippers which was a bit of a nightmare because I am not the most patient person with nail varnish and it needs a few coats. Ballet slippers is a lovely colour though ,when you build it up, and becomes the most perfect baby pink kind of colour. (I actually bought mine in a pack of three from tkmaxx but you can buy it here for £5.95)

However, this morning after re-painting over the various smudges, I decided to add possibly my all time favourite nail varnish over the top. I'm not sure of the actual name possibly something like "iridescent pink" but it is easily recognisable if you're ever looking for it. The glitter in this nail varnish just transformed the look of my nails and made them look amazing (they're still a little messy but I feel like the glitter adds another dimension). I bought this from Superdrug for about £2.99, cheap as well.

It'd be really helpful if I actually could get a decent picture of my nails but I don't have a camera accessible to me at all at the moment, so you'll have to bear with me.

I'm not really a nail kind of person but I just can't resist anything with glitter and I really think it's a stunning combination.

Polyvore: A Summer evening

Summer evening

I really love Polyvore and just thought It might be interesting to post an outfit I've put together, featuring my favourite perfume Stella summer rose, and one of my favourite people/artists ever Eliza Doolittle, the rest are things I don't actually own but are the sort of things I'd usually go for if I was shopping. I went with a sort of deep berry theme, for something suitable for a warm summer evening (I'm wishing a little here).
